Weekend Shopper

Over the weekend I went shopping with my kids. They were buying clothes and other things that they needed at the mall.

I found an outfit and a couple of other things that were on sale that really made my day. One thing though I wish that I had to forgotten were the Macys coupons that I had printed off to use. I would have been able to purchase what I wanted at a lower cost. But I didn't so I have to make another trip to pick up what I saw using the coupon! Saving money is well worth the trip back!

Charming Dilemma

I have collected charms for a bracelet for a number of years. Now I have a big dilemma that I am trying to figure out what to do.

I do not know if I want to continue with the charms that I purchase or switch over to the pandora charms that I have been looking at for a long while.

There are some lovely charms that I have seen. Plus these charms are even at certain jewelry stores in my area.

Now I just have to decide which way to turn!

Gift Idea

One thing that I know is always a hit with two of my friends and that is to buy cao cigars for them.

Usually it is rather a gross idea but one uses them for magical purposes as he is on a different path than most and he uses this as a cleansing tool.

So each year for his birthday this is what I purchase him. Now, the other person just loves to smoke cigars so it is a general hit with him. Since his birthday is next month he is already doing a dance of joy as I have been buying these for him for years.

I love easy gifts to give to my friends and family. Especially when I know that they really will enjoy the gift!

Bad Economy = Bad Attitude

With the economy in the crapper, it seems as if my attitude has followed along with it. I know I should be lucky I have a job but how lucky should I feel when my income has been cut in half? Not very, that’s how lucky. You see, I’m a real estate agent. I was doing very well for myself ten years ago making well into the 6 digits income range.

Now, I’m making what a teacher makes. We have been lucky enough to make cuts and be able to maintain most of our lifestyle. I traded my fully loaded Escalade in and went for something a little more reasonable, a Ford Expedition. It also saved us a good bit on care insurance too, so that was an added perk for our budget.

We also looked into deals that we could get with our phones and internet. That helped some. Then we looked into Directv deals and decided to switch from cable to satellite TV.

All very doable changes but some days, I miss my 6 digit income, and trips to the beach in my Escalade.

Headaches & Cures

Years ago I suffered from severe migraines. I was on medication for them for a very long time until I learned what exactly triggered them with me. Changing many and I mean many habits of mine now I rarely have a migraine.

One thing that I have just learned about and that is of Migraine plastic surgery as an option for sufferers. I read up on this as I know so many people that suffer with these horrendous headaches that I wanted to learn about it and pass it alone to them.

Very interesting reading and I was simply captivated by what I did find out about the whys and why fors.

Might not be for everyone but if it helps or can help why not look into it?

An Extra Assignment For You

Last month, Ginger challenged the policy that permitted distribution of Gideon Bibles at the local elementary school after her fifth grade son came home with one on December 19, 2011. When the school stated that any religious literature could be available for students to pick up, Ginger brought Pagan books to the school for distribution. However, the school refused to accept these books and have them distributed in the same way they had been distributing the Bibles, indicating that a new policy was being crafted.

This separation of church and state situation has been covered in various media reports for several weeks, and on Thursday was covered by national/global television news:

I rented the movie “Up” for my nephew because he would love the movie because he loves balloons. I was right. He wanted to watch the movie over and over again. Unfortunately, we had to return the movie to the store and he was disappointed when he could not watch it anymore. My sister has DIRECTV and one of the movie channels started playing “Up.” My sister was able to record it and now my nephew can watch the movie any time he wants to. It is so funny to hear him laugh at the movie. Every times he watches it, he is as equally impressed and excited to see the balloons lifting the house up. I actually even enjoy watching the movie too. I think that most of the movies they make for kids today also have some adult humor in it. It is probably a good idea to include some adult humor for the sanity of the adults who have to watch over and over again. However, after watching “Up” about a hundred times, I am ready for my nephew to move on to his next movie obsession.

Great Addition For Meditation

Oh my! Do I have something that is truly great to share. If you meditate you might have a hard time finding the right article to sit on. Sometimes the floor or even a pillow can be uncomfortable to use.

Try looking into the zabuton cushions that are designed for those that meditate. They are wonderful and reasonably priced. I know that I actually have one and for the longer meditations they help with comfort. Trying a few other things to use just did not work. This cushion did.

If you get some cash for Yule and looking for something to buy this might be the perfect gift to yourself!

Yule Office Hours

While I was out and about listening to my son talking about welding supplies and welding safe clothing I realized that the person that sends out the office hours is already off for Yule travels!

Remember that we are a family friendly school so we close up for the holiday so all may do what they need to do with family and friends.

Our office hours are as follows:

December 21-28 Closed
Open 9-1 29th
Closed December 30th-January 2nd

Emails will be answered but slowly so do not think you are being ignored. Corrections will be completed slowly also.

Only 5 more days until Yule. Imagine that! I keep thinking that it is still a ways off but we all know that is not true at all.

I still have decorations to put up and away and I do not see that I will have the time.
There is still so much to do with work, children events and other things that the things I want to do is piling up.One thing that I really did want and hoping that one of my children purchased is one of the decorative
house address plaques that I pointed out, sent URL's to and emails about. Yep, I put out enough hints that I am hoping they bought one!

Only a few more days to find out. I know that with everything that I have to do I will not be thinking about it until Yule!

Last Minute Detail Cleaning

Holidays are so special. With all the hustle and bustle of shopping and baking there is also the aspect of cleaning the home for all the visitors that will start trickling in. I really wish after looking at the http://www.thesteamteam.com/ site that I could have a company come in and clean all my floors for me this year!
It would make it so much easier and cleaner than my doing it that is for sure.

One thing that I did notice is that I needed some quick leather furniture cleaning tips before the Yule holiday hit. No matter what I do this one chair does not look bright and clean. I have looked all over the place for quick tips and nothing seems to work.

Now it's down to a point of having a professional cleaner clean it or just replace the chair completely this year. I will try one more method that I found discussing leather furniture cleaning tips and if that doesn't work, well I guess I will be shopping for a replacement!

Gift Ideas Made Easy

This year will be a mixture of happiness and sadness for our family. So many big changes that are basically good but with any type of changes emotions run high.

I have been looking into special gifts that will have personal meaning for each of my children and close friends. My closest friend has always wanted to have Golden Eagle gold bullion in his possession so this year he is getting some. Everyone pitched in from the family and also the staff so he will be so surprised to see this!

Hopefully my shopping is coming to a close!

Winter Home Projects

With Yule coming up so quickly I have started to think about what our winter projects will be. One thing that I have been looking into doing is reviewing quick step laminate flooring for the family room.In decorating this year I noticed that it really does need replacing!

With this house and restoring it there are so many things that need to be done. Over this winter we will be finishing the Great Room walls which is a big job and I am so looking forward in wrapping that up!

But until after the holidays my flooring will just have to do for now!

Nearly The End Of The Year

One of the vendors that we work with came into the office the other day and was talking about how he had to shop for a graduation gift for his nephew. Now, thinking that he was mistaken and just mixed up Yule for graduation we all laughed.

He explained that he was graduating ahead of the normal date as he had a very good job lined up. We had all forgotten how some students do graduate early and go back for the ceremony in June.

What a time to do it in! Not only shopping for Yule but trying to find that special graduation gift as well.

All I can say is that I am glad I have until June for my son to purchase his graduation gift!
