Love them to Death

I love my kids but sometimes they just drive me crazy. They never listen like they should and when it comes to taking my advice they may as well not even ask me. For example, my daughter bought her first new house about a year ago and we talked extensively about security systems. I told her to go to the HoMeSecurityFamilysite and pick one out and of course she just “never got around to it” and wouldn’t you know it, six months after she moved in she got burglarized. Told you so! My son is the same way and though he acts more interested I know he rarely does what I advise him to do. My wife tells me I need to start listening more and stop giving so much advice but at the end of the day I’m the dad and I know it’s up to me to really point my kids in the right direction. There’s no other calling I find as important as that to be a good father to my children and that’s what I’m trying to do!
