We do not have very many nice, warm weekends ahead of us. Instead of staying in watching TV or even looking for System Support & Documentation Jobs why not spend the weekend outside taking note of the things that nature has to offer you and your home?

Take for example our yard is now filled with walnuts that have bombed out of the trees. They are really a pain as they are all over making walking the path of the driveway a killer. So this weekend I am taking my grandson out (he is three now) to pick them up to begin drying them. Not only for the meat inside but to dry the husks and coverings out for later use in oils, powders and other things that may be needed in the winter.

I was thinking the other day that this needed to be done but put it off. So this weekend it will be a nutty one for us! Not only cleaning them up but utilizing what has fallen and been given to us. Using the meat and all parts for the winter. I love the freshness of the meat in the late winter!
