Road To Enlightenment:Are You There Yet?
So many times people talk about being on the road to enlightenment yet having a problem getting to far on that road. Wondering why that is they have no idea even where to start to look to solve the problem.
One thing that might occur is that they really are not on that road at all. Have they taken full responsibility for their actions, past, present and even future? Have they seen and felt what others feel? Have they actually forgiven what is not forgivable? More than likely no. They have yet to extinguish the flame of the fiery ego that presses them onward through a dry forest. Repeating the same errors over and over not learning from them. Only blaming everything and everyone around them. Blaming all but one person. Themselves. For they are the underlying problem, not those around them.
They just do not get it. They may do all of what they think they should be but remain stagnant. Maybe being enlightened is not going to happen to them in this lifetime as they are not ready to accept the faults that are theirs and theirs alone. Just like a diet. You take all the weight loss products that are available to you only to find that you are not loosing weight at all. Why? Maybe its the candy, drinks and junk food that you are still processing into your body. It is all the negative thoughts and feelings that are not let go off that you may not even notice that hinders our progress on the road. Enlightenment is wonderful but not an easy road to travel at all. Most of the time we will stray as we are not perfect but hopefully we live, learn, dusting off our traveling boots and trek onward towards the horizon to find that enlightenment that we are seeking.
While you are thinking that you have made it, kindly think about this. Are you really there yet?
