Power Words What Are They?

Many of those that walk the various paths have what is commonly known as Power Words. This may be one or more words that are used in their practice which have a personal meaning or have been set to be used for some specific task. These words are unique and aide the individual with the empowerment that they need.

There are many words or phrases that an individual may use that is special to them. There are many techniques in finding your word or phrase. One that I always found helpful for some is that of opening a dictionary or even a book and the first word that you see or touch (however you are doing this) may be turned into your power word. Although this may turn out with a few pretty bizarre words, you might want to come up with your own way of choosing your words!

Choosing your power words or phrases is just one other way in which to accent your personal practice. After choosing your words you might decide, if you already haven't done so yet, what these words are going to be used for. For example, are they for sealing the spells or rituals? Protection? Or something else? Whatever it is you might then chant the chosen word/words over and over with the intent in your energy's mind as you do so. This way you are charging your words for the specific action you want.

I know a few individuals that have daily power words. Using them only for a day, charged with the need that is relevant.

Is this something that is required or should be done? This is one of those issues that is a debate among many of the Craft. Personally, I feel it is up to the individual and what they wish to do.

Whatever you choose, remember to have fun with this. Light hearted positive energy is something that is always needed
