What Leaves To Use

While I am talking about the decorating of your sacred space I thought that instead of looking up health insurance because my students will certainly take it out on me later if I do not tell them about leaves. Yes, leaves.

There are many leaves that mean so much during the Mabon. You are able to collect these so easily and they are FREE! Finding them on the ground around the base of the tree means more to me than if they are scattered a long way away.

If you are picking them from the tree, please ask the tree for permission first. Waiting for a sign that the tree will allow you to pick them. You will know the sign that you are given. If you do not feel anything then do not pick them off the tree, plain and simple.

Here are a few leaves that you might wish to pick up:

Rowan: Using for Protection
Hazel: Wisdom
Birch: Nurturing, intuition
Maple: Peace, reconciliation
Sassafras: Spiritual, physical and emotional well being
Hawthorn: Goals, desires, wishes
Willow: To bend and be able to change with the times
Ash: Vitality, energy and power
Oak: Leadership, strength.

There you have it. I guess now I can take my leave (OHHH, bad pun)
