An Easy Side For Mabon
Since potatoes are symbolic of Mabon due to the fact that they are grown under the soil I wanted to share this great idea for using the potato at your ritual.
If you are planning to have a bon fire start by raking your leaves into a pile. You are able to use the leaves to bring in the the Fall!
Take your potatoes and wrap them in heavy duty foil. After which you can toss them into the fire and cook. While they are cooking you might say something like:
O Goddess Mother of us all,
We thank You as Your blessings fall. Upon us
each and every soul
As the year wheel turns and rolls.
For nourishing our bodies and Our spirits with Your gifts from the land.
For your abundance on the Earth.
We give you thanks with love and mirth.
Since potatoes are available and rather inexpensive purchase a bag for quantity. If you are doing a group working, pass the foil and potato allowing each member to wrap their own. You will not need any other items for this. So do not run out to your local cattle supplies company to get any thing fancy!
I found the chant at a great site. Now I can not find it so when I do I will post it for you all to visit it.
