Samhain Is Coming!

Can't you just feel it in the air? The weather is turning a bit on the chilly side. The leaves are turning those wonderful oranges and falling. You can just feel Fall's approach. Of course with Fall's arrival means that Samhain, or Halloween will soon be here. This is one of my family's favorite days of the year. Actually it comes in front of Yule. Imagine that!
The idea of decorating the house and yard is so much fun. We do every room, yes, even the bathroom for Samhain. Then there is the shopping at the different halloween costume stores that we begin to do. I do a lot of my costume shopping online in order to find unique costumes for either myself or my children. I usually let them go through the sites to see what they would love to be. They loved looking at Halloween Adventure when I showed them the site. My 14 year old, who is pictured in one of his masks for Samhain has decided that this will be his last year. So, we are going all out for his costume.
I love dressing up although I think the best was the year that I was the Pirate Wench. That was some year that is for sure. haha One thing is for sure you are able to let your imagination run
This year we are planning a small get together of family and friends to dress up and have wicked food before taking the smaller ones out to haunt the streets of town. We have been planning this since July!
It is not to soon to explore the options for your or your childrens costumes. Fly on over to Halloween Adventure. Reasonably priced and a slew of costumes to choose from!

Nana, Judy, Sister in law, myself and our then 3-year-old Emma went as the cast of the Wizard of Oz last year. We went a little late, so we pretty much had the streets to ourselves. Everyone thought we were nuts, but Emma loved it. Good times.
We have to come up with a plan for this year, although Sister in law is apparently wedded to her Scarecrow costume (it really is a nice one she made herself), so we're going to have to work around that.
