One question that has been asked repeatedly is if it is fine to use bic pens when writing spells.

While I and others see no harm in this method one should still follow instructions. Let us say that if a working calls for using Dove's Blood ink to write a name, then use that particular ink. A pen will not do at all. Unless it is the well type that allows you to draw the ink into the barrel.

I personally still rely on my quill that I have had for making sigils and the like.

Remember while we do have modern devices it is still more appropriate to fall back on the old tools of the past.

For a quick spell you are writing a pen is fine.
