Museum of Art

For all you soon to be vactioner's I have a great place for you to visit. If you are in the vicinity of Orange, Texas you just have to go to the Stark Museum of Art. I mean this is a must visit. One reason is that they have one of the most unique and concise collection of Western Art, American Indian Art, Decorative Arts, and Rare Books and Manuscripts. For those that are interested in these arts you will be in heaven.

Giving just a few examples of the art that they have. In the Western Art the art is from over two centuries. Frederic Remington, Charles Marion Russell, Joseph Henry Sharp and John Mix Stanley are only naming a few of the numerous artists work they have.

American Indian Art will knock your socks off. You will see the objects that the tribes in the Great Plains, Southwest, Eastern Woodlands and Northwest Coast made. Absolutely worth the visit right there. And it will be an educational experience of a lifetime for your children.

Now, my favorite that I would love to see is the Decorative Arts section. As I love Steuben Glass, there is an entire Collection for you to marvel at. I know that I would be there just drooling.

Rare Books & Manuscripts Collections would of course be my second place that I would certainly love to visit. They have manuscripts from one of my favorites, John James Audubon

For those of you that may not be able to visit Orange, Texas to see this fantastic museum you might want to go to the site and take a long look around. There are plenty of beautiful pictures to look at. While reading all about the museum and how it all began. The history of this museum is fascinating in its own right. Learn about the Stark Foundation that was established in 1961 in order to improve the quality of life in Southeast Texas by encouraging, promoting and assisting education, the arts, and health and human services

This is a truly great spot to take a family type vacation. The experience will be with you forever
