I think that most people that are in the various occult worlds all share one thing in common. That is the signature jewelry pieces that are worn. Whether it be a simple ring or a gold bangle, jewelry is worn. Each piece of jewelry that is worn might have a different significance to the owner. Such as a ring might hold the energy to be used when the feelings of protection may be needed. Releasing this energy that has been stored in the ring. Or a pendent as a cleansing tool for a chakra.

Each piece of jewelry is strictly the wearers. One rule of thumb is that if it is to be used in a magical manner it should be out of sight. This is mainly for certain pieces and the power that you have placed in it.

For example I have a necklace that I was given by my Klan. When I wear this it is always and I mean always tucked under my top. Only wearing on the outside if I am alone or among my Klan or the general counsel.

Another thing is to not let others touch these pieces. If someone is about to handle your item, gently take their hands and guide them away from it. Outsider energy in these possessions is a No-No. With practice you will be able to not have prying hands on your jewelry.
Wearing these items gives us a sense of empowerment. Our own personal empowerment.
